What can I expect during a chiropractic appointment at Meridian?
-
Assessment: Our chiropractor will evaluate your condition, including a physical exam, a review of medical history, and potentially assessing previous X-rays in order to identify main areas of misalignment or restriction.
-
Manual Therapy: You will experience a combination of hands-on techniques including spinal manipulation and soft tissue release. The chiropractor will use their hands and specialized tools to apply a controlled force to the affected joints in order to realign vertebrae and restore joint motion.
-
Joint Cavitation: You may hear a popping or cracking sound, don't let it scare you! It is just the gas being released by the joint movement.
-
Heat Pads and Electric/ Ultrasound Treatment: The affected area will also typically be exposed to high frequency soundwaves that enter deep within the tissue to promote healing and reduce pain by increasing blood flow, stimulating cells, and reduce swelling and inflammation. Heat pads are also used to loosen the soft tissue in the area.
-
Personalized Treatment Plan: We can help you schedule regular follow-up appointments so your progress is never lost!
